OtoheKal started out as a General Trades company, committed to bringing the latest in global technology to Iraq in an attempt to rebuild our Nation. At the same time, the management of the company started site construction and by adding a crew of experienced engineers, it soon became a very active field in the company's activities.

OtoheKal also made a major leap by adding a “Productions” division to the company, which was in charge of manufacturing prefabricated buildings and furniture. The Productions Division quickly proved its competence and traversed all the barriers of producing high quality products despite of all the limitations.

The Production and Trade divisions immediately demonstrated their capabilities in accomplishing large procurement and production projects, and arose to become the main line of work in OtoheKal. These divisions became involved in the production of all kinds of prefabricated buildings and caravans, and other life support equipments, as well as importing a vast assortment of products from neighboring and European countries, as well as the US and South Eastern Asia. This rapid growth soon brought up the necessity of separating the management of the Production section and the Trade section, caused by the quick outgrowth of the organizational chart that was originally designed, and proved to be far more productive than the original organizational chart could exploit.
